how do you get rid of hiccupsHow do you get rid of hiccups in an infant?

My 4 month old baby girl gets hiccups constantly. Is there any safe way to help her get rid of them?
Hiccups are nothing to worry about. All of us gets them at times. There is nothing we can do to prevent them I can tell you what some people say works though. First let me tell you what causes them.

The contraction of the diaphgram is what is the problem. This is the organ that helps us to breathe. It pulls down when we inhale and pulls up when we exhale. It gets irritated at times and pulls up with a jerky movement bringing out the sound we termed hiccups.

This occurs when large a swallow is taken at one time or a big mouthful of fluid or food.

Things that work:
(i) putting a little sugar under the tongue
(ii) drinknig some fluids or water
(iii) frightened the individual suddenly
Just have him/her lick a spoon covered in peanut butter. It works, I found it in a health book.

you give your baby vitamins. In her/his mouth they will go away right away!

how do you get rid of hiccups
Miy little guy got them all the time and never seemed bothered by them. He always got them after a really good giggle and still can till this day. Just try some water to help them pass faster.
Hiccups are very common in infants. There are multiple reasons for getting hiccups. One that I have not seen listed is they get cold. The next time your infant gets hiccups try wrapping her tightly in a warm blanket
Don't worry about them. They're perfectly normal, and don't bother your baby.
my son keeps the hiccups too i always give him a bottle or a pacifier to suck on it helps them to relax which gets rid of the hiccups
Actually, hiccups are part of normal lung development. Just give her something to drink (water is best) if it continues longer than a few minutes. This stimulates teh Vegas nerve and stops the hiccups. (By the way, the nerve is located at the very back of the tongue.)
aren't they annoying?

According to my daughters DR. they bother us more than they bother them. Mine had hiccups ALL THE TIME. I guess it's normal. Not much you can do for them.
gihow do you get rid of hiccupsve them alittle more milk or water and the hiccup should go away. and burp them right away.
I don't think there is really anything you can do, just be patient!
well im hispanic and in puetro rico they usually take a small pice of thred of any clothes they wearing, roll around into a ball and put it on its forehead,i swear bye it i do all the time to my 5 moth old and u be surprise it works, make sure its a lil wet so it will stick, leave it on until hiccups r gone. try it i do.
I learned this from my wife who is a nurse and it works extemely well. Close both eyelids and, using your fingers, put moderate pressure on your eyelids in the middle where the pupil is. Press moderately hard for 15-30 seconds or so. I hold my breath at the same time but it is the pressure on the eyelids that does it. It is a pressure point for some reason that works extremely well. And you can do it anywhere. Try it!
You sell it and get a new one. This one is obviously defective.
shake him upside down... its seems to work... i guess
